Snow Patrol is expertly bringing experimentation into modern rock, and not going overboard, they've produced a solid rock album for the times, Final Straw. The first release sounds little like the frontman (Lightbody)'s previous work Reindeer Section, and not quite as edgy as friend-of-theband's Arab Strap. The lyrics are reminiscent of teenage television, but the way Lightbody sings them is so maxin.

Modest Mouse is back with a heavily polished "Float On," which makes a valiant effort to brinhg his energetic musical rants to the mainstream airwaves. "Float On" jams out.
