Several
Arrows Later |
Matt Pond Serves Again
October 26, 2005
Several Arrows Later is another must-have
album from the makers of last year's Emblems. Present again
in this album are the earthy and achingly meaningful lyrics from
the Pondman himself. "Halloween," is the selection that
starts off the album and makes for a perfect autumn tune to think
about the state of culture and one's life.
"Heard it's modern to be stupid. You don't
need a thought to look good," sets the tone for the cerebral
lyricist. He goes on to talk about trashing the place full of all
the modern people.
Other songs on this edition include "On My
Balcony," with wishes for an endless summer by Norwegians,
Flunk; a nice ditty by Sally Seltmann's New Buffalo; and an autumnal,
"Orangegrey," by Southern California's Whacktus.
