Ever
since the fad diets became popular in the Eighties, the
general conception of a ‘diet’ is that it is
a tool to help its participant lose a few pounds, then return
to normal eating methods. This type of yo-yo eating habits
is confusing, however appealing it may seem. Testimonials
similar to, “I lost 50 pounds in 5 weeks!” to,
“I dropped 15 pounds the first week!” lead to
inaccurate depictions of what a diet should be. If these
people were to continue on their so called diet, they would
be weightless within a couple years. Now that’s amazing.
