The Renascent is a collection of modern cultural works in printed book format. The Winter 2006 edition will showcase new short stories and poems by writers from around the world. It is free to submit your work for entry.

How to submit your entry

To submit your works, please email Word documents of your work along with title and date to state@code-interactive.com. More recent pieces are preferred. Also, we request a small bio and photo of the writer (also 300 dpi- 1" x 2", please) and contact information with which potential publishers and clients may contact you.

By sending renascent your work, you automatically agree to the submission agreement. See below for details. Online submission to come.

Short stories must not exceed 8000 words. We will try to recreate any graphic presentation of poems, but it cannot be assured.

Submission Agreement

You retain the copyright, but by submitting your written work to The Renascent, you agree to allow the State of Art, The Renascent, and other companies affiliated to use, reproduce, and publish your work with no compensation to you. Work submitted (accepted or otherwise) will only be used in the one-time publication of Renascent and potentially for advertisements for that publication. We are unable to provide writers with complimentary copies upon acceptance.

Submission Restrictions

Each participant is allowed to enter 4 works for jury. Of those, a maximum of 3 may be chosen to be published. You may not enter a work created by another person. You may not enter a work that has been rejected in the past.

The Publication

The publication will be a 7.5" x 7.5" black and white book with full-color cover. It will be available at most online retailers (Amazon.com, BarnesAndNobel.com, Lulu.com, etc.), and can be ordered through the ISBN system at any bookstore. Estimated price is $23.
